I am a trained architect who previously worked for Anthropologie as one of their in-house Display Artists.  I am a mom of three young kids (ages two, four and six) and two Newfoundland dogs, who along with my husband all live in an old 1,100 sf home in Durham; out of necessity I practice daily how to maximize our space, minimize our clutter, and infuse color and whimsy into our home.  I love design blogs and instagram accounts, and am working alongside my husband to redesign our 1890 house into a home more reflective of us.  I can think spatially (thanks architecture school!), take great delight in designing floor plans, picking paint colors, cleaning up computer files and photos, and purging toys to the swap shop.

I am a people person and delight in finding ways to infuse care and connection into my daily interactions.  The bulk of my professional career was as a Care Manager for seniors aging in place, where home function and flow is crucial and also where personal tenderness must be forefront. Along the way, I’ve also curated retail displays, cleaned homes, and, most importantly, am a mom to two wonderful little girls.

One of my favorite design projects was partnering with my now-husband to create our 300 sq. ft. dream houseboat, a project that even earned a feature in Maine. magazine. After five unforgettable years aboard (and one toddler later), we tearfully sold it, but the experience showed me just how much possibility exists in well-organized spaces, no matter how small or multifunctional.
